Subject: Bush Administration denies -- as polar bears die.
Reply-To: notice-reply-in8n36e205emxwi at nrdconline.org

Dear Brooke,

Getting our Polar Bear S.O.S. message on TV just became more
important than ever.

The Bush Administration announced last week that it will not
address global warming pollution as part of any plan to help the
polar bear -- even though it is global warming that is causing
the bear's Arctic habitat to melt!

And that's not all. The Administration also issued a gag order
that restricts its own scientists' ability to discuss global
warming and polar bears when those scientists travel abroad to
conferences.

The time for such Orwellian denial is over! We need your support
to get the truth about the polar bear's plight to millions of
Americans by next week.

We've already raised $130,000 of the $300,000 we need to put
our new TV ad on the air and send the Bush Administration a
message loud and clear about saving the polar bear.

Once you've seen the ad, I know you'll want to help us raise the
$170,000 we now need to beam this ad into millions of homes
across America.

Your donation could put us over the top!

If 12,000 supporters like you chip in $25 each, we can be on
the air next week with a powerful message that will spark an
outpouring of Citizen Comments in favor of protecting the polar
bear under the Endangered Species Act.

The latest news proves beyond a doubt that polar bears need our
immediate help to survive global warming. As Arctic sea ice
continues to melt, polar bear birth rates are falling...fewer
cubs are surviving...and more bears will drown.

But the Bush Administration still persists in its do-nothing
policy on global warming.

Unless we mobilize a nationwide outcry over the next 30 days --
while the Bush Administration is taking public comments -- the
polar bear could be doomed to extinction.

That's why our national TV ad is so critical. It will broadcast
the truth about the disastrous impact that global warming is
having on the polar bear...and create a national blizzard of
concern that will ratchet up the pressure on Bush Administration
officials.

Won't you chip in to make that happen?

Please click here and make a donation that will help unite
Americans in response to the polar bear's S.O.S.:

Thank you for doing your part.

Sincerely,

Frances Beinecke
President
Natural Resources Defense Council
